For the love of justice.
In our heart of hearts we believe that every human being is inherently valuable. We love diversity—different cultures, languages and accents, skin colors, and worldviews. We don’t think of this diversity as a melting pot, but rather a beautiful and intricate mosaic. And it really pains us to the core that some don’t have the same privilege, opportunity, and freedom, but are oppressed, disfranchised, persecuted, abused, enslaved, and trafficked. Honestly, it makes us sick that one person is capable of doing it to another. We take a stand and we will fight until we have breath in our lungs.
Fair is fair.
We enjoy coffee so much that a thought of not having it available in 50 years sounds really dire. This is just another reason we are committed to sourcing coffee and tea in most ethical and sustainable ways we know. As much as we care for the coffee and tea, we want to care for the farmers, their families, and communities even more. And now, you care, too.
We are small—by design.
Coffee shouldn’t sit on a shelf for weeks or months before being consumed. At that point it probably won’t be even enjoyed. As a matter of fact, never buy coffee without a date when it was roasted. We roast our coffee in small batches, to order, just before it’s shipped to you. And because we’re small, we have the time to pay attention to detail—we know you like that.
We are honest folks.
To us, you’re not just a customer—you become a friend. And we promise to treat you with respect, honesty, and transparency. If something is not jiving, talk to us—we’ll make it right, if at all possible. We also promise to bring you the expertise, but without snobbery. No one is born a coffee guru, after all. We love to educate and pride ourselves on providing friendly and inviting environment to do so in.
